I'm not sure I understand how you keep roof noise out.
What's the structure made of from the roof down to the ceiling treatment?
It's not ideal but the flat roof was covered with a pitched roof years ago so in effect there is a giant airspace above my ceiling. The next step is to seal up and blow in more insulation above the ceiling to help attenuate when it rains heavily. That is the only time I have any issues is during a torrential downpour.
In the control room we hung wood runners and attached rockwool above them, stapled screen in and covered it with fabric. In the tracking room they are wood frames stuffed with insulation and wrapped with peg board with fabric on the inside to keep the insulation from raining down.

There was a bit of simple logic, and some evil genius in the floor plan of the live room. No surface is faced directly to any other surface. 95% diffuse.
It works. With a 57 aimed 120° off the drums, and about 10-12' back, SLAMMIN'!

Is that what you were asking?
Yes. That 'splains it!
A different question.
How close are those Adam's to the wall behind them?
The wall that you see is a false wall/trapping wall so in essence the Adams are sitting about 2 feet off the "hard wall" and 6-12" off of the trap wall. We tried them out a little farther but lost something and moved them around for a while until they found their spot. It took about 2 hours to locate where they were happy which is a heck of a lot quicker than the old scenario where it took three days plus. Fibes

Wow!!!
judging by the pictures and jovial mood (and of course, y'alls kick-ass room design) me thinks i should start renovating my place too.
What difference is there between the low-end and broadband absorbers?
Also, in the 'CRFrontwall' pic I noticed the acoustic material (703s?) look different in the middle than on the "sides" of the front wall. Is there an actual difference?Signature: The fakultative signature, which will appear with the soil of your reports

The deep bass traps are Ethan Winer style diaphragm traps and the broadband absorbers are merely fiberglass stuffed behing peg board.

No new pics yet 'cause we've been working.
Last night we tracked a great drummer and for the first time I got to hear the room as it was intended. The plan was to replace a drummer from Saturdays session who wasn't cutting it and surprise the client with the results when we sent in the new guitars, keys and steel so it was a quick setup and track...
We added two Bova Ball room mics to the equation, and went with the setup from Saturday. OMFG it was night and day, the room was speaking to us and the best thing besides Miles' "Holy shit" was the drummer coming back in after playback and saying "that's the way I hear it when I'm playing, and it's so natural." Anywho, we've got some wiring issues to deal with and once those are straight we're firing on all cylanders again.
