I can't find too many reviews on this. Anyone have any experience with it? Also I've heard good things about the Onyx Pre's but have no experience with them. How do they matchup?

The onyx pres are nice.
They're cool on drums, I have never really experiment
with other sources, but at this price, they're not too bad.

But I'm not sure about this satellite unit...
Sounds a bit weird!

Do you mean conceptually weird? I really like the concept of it, but not sure how it plays out in the real world. Interesting thread. Mackie says the Satellite uses the Onyx pre's but are they the same pres as the board?

At first view, wireless things and pro audio don't coexist really well... I'm afraid that you may experience some interference problems...

The Onyx Satellite is not wireless.

It's dockable, but the portable section has I/O as well. Kind of like a laptop with a docking station. Usable without the dock, but bring it home and have a few additional options...

I have an 800R and if the pres in the Satellite are the same caliber, I might have to pick one up to play with! I have no complaints about the Onyx preamps, that's for sure.

I'm not familiar with this product, but with a second look,

sorry to dig up an old thread, but was looking for some discussion on the onxy satellite

as i need a basic 2 channel box, pretty much just for DA monitoring from my daw, and i'm not ready to dump money on something like a central station heh Very Happy

Getting back on topic, I had the M/O/S for about 2 days on both my Mac and a Pc the interface levels were too low, (not the preamps) I try using different programs Garageband,Cubase, vegas, Acid with the same result, maybe it was a defective unit maybe not, Loved the concept,but it did not do as advertise, so I broke down and did a DIGI unit.

Eagles may soar high, but weasels don't get sucked into jet engines.
