Regarding the letter Chance posted above, I think it's necessary that I reveal my recent involvement in this problem. First, I have no money tied up in this because I hadn't yet paid my invoice so sticking my nose in wasn't self-motivated.
Obviously, I've been following this problem as we all have and I was hoping it would resolve itself quickly. When it was apparent that it wouldn't, I sent a message to Chance offering to assist and, with his thanks and approval, I emailed a cousin of mine who is a very upper level executive at ebay explaining the problem and asking if he could assist in getting it cleared up. I sent the email late in the afternoon on Tuesday and yesterday I received a phone call from Andrea (the one who sent the letter to Chance) who told me that she'd been contacted by my cousin and would be handling this problem.
I am revealing this now because I think it would work against Chance's best interests and the interests of those who have their money tied up, if people started filling Andrea's email box with letters of complaint. She is going to expedite the handling of this issue and it will get resolved quicker than if it had gone through normal channels. So please don't sabotage our chances of a fast resolution just to let off a little steam.
Jim

Just got this from paypal:
We are writing to you in regards to your recent transaction involving
musicians.workshop@gte.net. The seller has requested that we issue you
a full refund, and we have issued the refund accordingly.
Note: If the payment, or a portion of the payment, was funded by your
credit card, the appropriate amount will be refunded to your credit
card. You will see this in your transaction log as two entries. The first
is the refund to your PayPal account, and the second is the credit to
your credit card. Credits to a credit card normally take 2-3 business
days to post through the card issuer and may not immediately affect the
balance on the card.
Sincerely,
PayPal

I think it is likely that the "complainer" did so on purpose, to make things harder for the Group Buy. These GB's are NOT popular in some circles...nothing more should be said about that.
Everyone just indeed stand by while the new payment methodology is worked out. This will cost everyone less, and work better anyway.

Maybe that's what it looks like, but you also have to think about many other things.
Chance has never taken any profit at all from this, or ever been paid at all for the thousands of hours he has put into these Group Buys. In all honesty, sometimes it seems he is crazy or something, for doing so much for nothing. But he enjoys it, and it has been a way to participate in the making of new pieces of gear, as well as getting some of it to work with and experiment with.
But almost nobody else in the world is able to, or would, do all of this. After the cost of the raw products, there are shipping costs, dock charges, Customs duties, local trucking, sorting, packing, shipping, worrying about the Paypal thing, and many, many other tasks. And with the amount of goods this has now turned into, it is almost unfathomable to the outside world how much work it all is.
Companies cannot, and will not, do all of this without some profit.
So when you see a "similar" product sold for more cost, it may well not be that they are "greedy" at all, but just that they are an actual company that NEEDS to make a profit to even justify doing it at all.
There are probably some out there taking more profits than others, but it is always not as easy, or as clear cut, as it appears at first glance.
Thanks again, Chance. (There's your pay.)

Just to make myself clear, i got nothing agains profits.your point is more than valid.
And Chance is a brave men to do it , it's insane the work that he got to do and i'm the first one to admitted it.
Everybody should make profit in life for the work that you do, but when you see the money that some of these electronic company, or some of the distributor are making, it's insane, but again it's fair competitions.it's only a personal observation, when you walk in the parking lots of one of the biggest distributor in canada, there is a lot of BMW and mercedes in the lots if you know what i mean........
All the best
