A fascinating article. Selfish destroys selfish.

Torture “is basically subject to perception,” CIA counterterrorism lawyer Jonathan Fredman told a group of military and intelligence officials gathered at the U.S.-run detention camp in Cuba on Oct. 2, 2002, according to minutes of the meeting. “If the detainee dies, you’re doing it wrong.”

altruism is a pathological state
try walking into a renal unit and saying that you want to donate a kidney
see how long before the boys in white arrive...

uh........
ok, so its good to be an ass-hole?
as long as you are eliminating other ass-holes?
or something like that?
really this is great. it will help to encourage, excuse and reward
"perceived" and unacceptable behavior patterns we tend discourage in a civil society.who knew?
lets roll this BS out into the schools fast to make sure future generations understand it clearly.

"Individuals who behave altruistically are vulnerable to exploitation by more selfish individuals within their own group"
I don't think the theory is as relevant as it wants to be as it focuses on group rather gene while the overwhelming majority of altrustic acts are driven by nepotism (genes). I believe Daniel Farris was right in his referral.
