just got back home from St. Louis.
first off......driving in icing weather conditions is not all that unfamiliar to a kansas city boy. however, driving home after a few long days of pre-production seeing some post appocalypse wrecks scattered around the interstate with signs that read, "incident ahead, be prepared to stop", wasn't exactly my idea of good times.
secondly, working with open minded bands, that are focused and able to play their songs, make changes, and keep their heads straight for 10 hours a day is a wonderful thing!
thridly, the elctro-harmonix HOG bass pedal is AWESOME!
and finally. capping a 10 hour day with some great food, good people, and a hooka....now that's living my friends!

J, was the shisha from Fumari? If it wasn't you should try it sometime. That stuff is tasty! Kind of like Smoothie King vs. Jamba Juice...

My apologies, didn't mean to come off as a hookah-snob. Fumari is a hookah joint in San Diego that also makes their own shisha (tobacco). They hand pack it to order, thus it tastes far more fresh than some other brands that get shipped from overseas (like Al Fakher, from Egypt). I don't think they really distribute it that much, I've only been able to order it through their website. A friend in Gainesville says he was able to get it locally though (for whatever that's worth to you).

If you really want to go all out, you should try smoking with olive seed coals as well. The olive seed coals burn better (more evenly and steady) than regular wood-based hookah charcoal and don't smell like burnt fireworks, as the quick light ones do. They actually sort of smell like BBQ, but not abrasively so. They come in a bag, inside a box, in the form of broken, black, rounded triangular bars. I've always been able to find these in medium, yellow and white boxes at local middle eastern food stores.
Damn good stuff.
