Wow. Just got back from Europe. Saw Gaudis' Segrada Familia and the Alhambra in Granada, amongst many other things.
Anyone else here seen the Alhambra? If you ever get a chance, do not hesitate to see this amazing palace-city. It was easily the best highlight of my trip.

I've been to Spain quite a few times, and always encourage people to go to Granada to see the Alhambra - it is a moving experience, and isn't swallowed up by ugly urban sprawl. You may not have had the chance to see them, but the other hill near the Alhambra has several "troglodyte" houses - houses that use the hill itself as part of their inner structure. It doesn't rain much around there, so it is a natural thing to use mother nature's elements in the construction, as the Alhambra uses light to such a great advantage.

It was a moving experience; both architecturally and spiritually. It's still hard for me to digest what I saw there. I came across a reference in some literature stating that the Nasrid Sultans built it as a 'Paradise on Earth'. It was quite busy the day we went. We had to wait in line at 6am because we didn't buy our tickets ahead of time; won't make that mistake again. I'm going to return after it's finished renovations with a better camera and maybe book a private tour. A family member had also mentioned those 'cave houses', but i didn't get a chance to see them. Next time as well.
Maxim: Granada was great. Cordova is supposed to be very nice too.
