Anybody download the new Death Cab For Cutie album? The last track is the reading of the credits. Very clever. "Recorded using ATR magnetics and Radar 24".

I'm currently working with a client who is going to read her credits and thank you notes. I think it's a cool idea. Plus she can save money on the case insert!

Harry Nilsson did it on the Skidoo soundtrack. his is actually a song, rather than just a reading. So, I think it was conceived within the context of the film. But yes, yet another reason to like Nilsson.

The album has a good shot at being #1 next week, maybe even selling over 125K in it's first week (based on first day sales)

If you wanted to sound like you regretted who you got to work on your album you could get Morgan Freeman to read the credits.

My friend Mike just finished mixing their live for itunes recording. He said they just sound like they do no matter how you record them.

FWIW-I thought their last album was brilliant in many respects.
It may be one of the best examples of self-production to have come along for some time.
