Terry, the tube is listed there under optional. I assume that's not what's meant. I'm not familiar with the EF860, but the new circuit isn't using a dual triad 12AX7 type is it?

I guess if you want a tube microphone, you do have to use the tube. If you do not want a tube microphone, don't use one.
The tube of course is not "optional." It's just listed right under some options.
12AX7 will not work in this circuit (thank goodness).
I *THINK* there is no modification required to the PSU to make this work. Will check further on that.

It is unfortunate that my first post on this forum is a negative one, but here goes:
I had previously posted my concern about NOT receiving my TNC order on Gearslutz, and Chance responded shortly after with an email and scanned attachment of a shipping label, I guess to show that it was "shipped" on paper.
I have however, NOT received ANY part of my order, and have emailed Chance constantly since December about it. I'm curious to see if there is anybody else browsing these posts that has NOT received their order. I feel like I have been forgotten about, and I am seriously wondering if I will ever see the mic and preamps I ordered.
Below is my previous post on Gearslutz:
I have kept this off the boards, and have sent PMs to chance about my problem with no luck, so maybe you guys can help. I'll try to keep this short.
11/18/08
Fedex said they delivered my package ACMP 73 (x2) and a acm1200 mic. Checked with Chance and he said that something was wrong with the shipping labels. Turns out that it was just a mix up and my package did ship.
11/22/08-12/5/08
I call fedex and they said it was left on my door. NO PACKAGE ON MY DOOR. Wait a few days, then I call Fedex and they supposedly "investigated" my order. Called Fedex back a couple days later and they said nothing more could be done and I needed to contact the shipper (Chance) since he was the only one who could file a claim.
12/9/08
Pm'd Chance so he could file a claim
and decided to wait and not hassle Chance since we are all busy during the holidays
1/3/09
Chance lets me know he will be in contact with fedex next week
1/10/09
Chance Pm'd me saying he talked with a supervisor and they will be getting back to him regarding my order.
1/10/09-Now
Sent Chance 5 emails, but no reply....
Does anybody have a clue about what's going on with the shipments? I figure Chance will get back to me once all the international orders have been sent out, but I am very concerned at this point, given I have been trying to sort this out for over 3 months.
Are any of you having problems similar to mine? I read a post a couple pages back about someone who received only part of his/her order. Did you get that resolved??

Sounds like someone snatched them from your doorstep. I don't think you can hold Chance accountable for that. Fedex, maybe, if they were supposed to get a signature.

funny thing is, that's exactly how much I may be out of, $460. I ordered 1 ACM1200 and 2 ACMP-73's. What are you waiting on?
As far as who should be held accountable, I don't know.....
have any of you had to sign for your TnC package when it came? I think that it would make sense for Chance to require a signature for $460 worth of electronic equipment. I have purchased everything from rack screws and mic stands to Tubetech pres and Adam monitors online, and each of those items required a signature. I think it was a bad call on Fedex's part to leave the package at my door (if it even got there to begin with) because the door tag, which was supposed to be on my door, was found in my plants, extremely weathered. This tells me that it was obviously windy, and raining hard that day! Also, why leave a door tag if the package is supposed to be right there on the door step? are they expecting it to get stolen?!...sorry guys, please excuse the ranting
Anyway, I just want to get some answers, but Chance will not contact me back to figure this out. Hope all is going well with your TnC gear, hopefully I get mine.
