Heh, listen to the Hard Ons version....they mess it up and then restart. Stairway is a pretty difficult song to pull off....it takes alot of hand stretching to do it right. Everytime that I think, "goddamn!" when I mess it up, I listen to Jimmy's live versions and say, "well, I can probably play it better than him, live", heh.
Re: Venetian Snares' version: I still have no idea how anyone can consider anything that he does even halfway musical. Venetian Snares gives any of us hope that none of us actually have to have talent to sell records or even get on a "101 Versions of Stairway To Heaven" thing. You'll know what I mean when you listen to it.

I performed "STH" in my high school talent show in 1974 as Leo Kottke might have interpreted the song on a twelve-string. I was beaten by a young lady in hot pants who lip-synched "I've Got A Brand New Pair Of Roller Skates".

Definete requirement when playing Stairway:
1) cucumber or salami strategically jammed down one's tight pants
2) a double necked Gibson
3) a bustle in a hedgerow
