Wondering if any of you have noticed whether the newer iphones, which operate on the updated "3g" network, introduce interference into the signal path when in-studio.
I have had many problems with client iphones creating a great deal of interference during sessions. However, i believe all of the iphones causing these problems operated on the earlier, GSM, network. I have been told that the newer phones, operating on AT&T's 3g network are free from causing interference.
Just wondering if any of you can speak from experience?
Thanks in advance!

Interesting to note, rampant cellphone/blackberry interference in conference systems drove manufacturers for the installed sound market to add RF blocking components to those mics. I don't think that is something I'd want to see in a studio grade mic.
I usually remind people when entering the live room, "you might want to turn your cell off." Aside from potential interference, it's a distraction. I'll leave it at that and spare the rant.

iphones have always been notoriously noisy, in terms of radiation into nearby electronics.
I don't know that the 3g is any worse than the 2g
One thing I noticed, to my surprise, is that the 3g works, as a PHONE, in Japan.
so it's not ONLY a data path difference.
