I don't think Samplitude addresses the wordclock synchronization. This is handled by the driver. Usually there is a checkbox in the software that comes with your soundcard.

For example, here is the Hammerfall dialog that comes up when I click on the applet in the system tray. Note the checkbox for word clock there.

I think that could be it. Selecting ASIO driver and then EXTERNAL for source doesn't work, since EXTERNAL is not one of the options. It is either 'internal' or 'settings'. So these probably are the settings of my hammerfall cards.

I am going to do some testing with this...

Seems like they're at least not accepting potentially morally questionable music. Maybe there's some nobility in that.
