I recognize that is probably the best way. However, there is not any space left in this rack so I cannot do that. So, I thought that a fan would be the next best approach.

1) which are better, AC or DC fans?
|
AC fans running on mains voltage are more powerful but probably overkill. They are also loud.| Quote: |
2) how do I ensure that the fan will not add any noise on the AC line? use a DC fan??
|
Yes.| Quote: |
3) what brand is the quietest acoustically?
|
Many fan manufacturers make low noise fans. I still find them too noisy, so I run them on less than the rated voltage. A pair of 12Vdc fans running on 9Vdc is quieter than a single 12Vdc fan running on full voltage, for example.

wood fiber insulation board (WFIB) is more common in Europe than in the US (where recycled cotton like ultra logic are more readily available). cellulose insulation is a type of wood and paper fiber insulation which can be used in some situations - like in existing walls, ceilings, and sometimes in absorber cavities...
here's a cool link to natural insulation products including hemp, sheeps wool, cooton, wood fibre (fiber in US English )

+1 on the UMT-70 - but I would connect it to a John Hardy M1 preamp.
Methinks you'll have money left over to buy a nice cable, too!

I cant imagine you could make these for less money than you can buy these.
Well maybe if you have an extensive shop.

All matter originates and exists only by virtue of a force which brings the particles of an atom to vibration and holds this most minute solar system of the atom together . . . We must assume behind this force the existence of a conscious and intelligent Mind. This Mind is the matrix of all matter."

I have a very neat Pyrex dish that has a lid. You put it in this pizza bag type thing to keep it warm. Very useful. I'll have my famous green bean casserole at the Mercenary booth if anyone wants to try it.
Nick... just stay for an extra week! Duh.

How about hearing both converters and making your own opinion? Get both... try them, pick one, return the other and you'll have an answer to your question as it relates to your reality.
