Saw this on somebody else's master channel for an ITB mix. Just had to take a pic and share. I don't know how it sounded, but I'm wondering if there's any room left for you guys to compress after all this.

Oh, I'm sure there is plenty of room for compression, and EQ. It's probably very dynamic. No mixer would ever send a mix to mastering with the shit all smashed out of it.

I don't see a problem with it (hint: every plugin in that snapshot is more than just bypassed, they're all disabled)

assuming they aren't just awol...not a problem then.
"legit" mixing strategies that could yield j.j's screenshot might include: trying processors first on busses and then moving them to the appropriate tracks. or for a quickie master to make a ref. or if the mix engineer wanted to check how their mix would survive anticipated mastering. or to instruct the m.e. on what, or how much they think it will need.

This is indeed a growing problem. The artist or producer isn't happy with the mix unless it sounds like the latest finished CDs in his collection, so the mixer, instead of just making a listening ref, leaves it all on the bus and it gets sent to mastering. Once in mastering, any attempt at EQ just brings up the hash rather than helping the frequency balance, and the artist/producer isn't happy unless it's louder after mastering than before, so you add fuzz on top of fuzz and then it goes to radio where fuzz is added to the fuzz that was added to the fuzz...

Are you trying to say it's a fuzzy situation? I agree.
The buttons look grayed out to me. Maybe he has them just available on a chain and uses them for different stuff one at a time. In this case all bypassed.
