Specs?

-Can you get Edcor to make you one? -or is the NOS part essential?

You need the NT 495/S for the 140,
there is no general replacement available, the M core has a gap to keep the stray field low.
specs are

1/110/117/220/240 taps for the primary.
secondary
290V 10mA
6.3V 225mA
6.3V 225mA
6.3V 2A

Did you mean 100 mA? The schemes call for 35 and we measure same here.

Do you have any experience in re-capping these beasts? We may have jumped to some conclusions on the power transformer. If it DOES turn out to be a problem, can you wind us a new one to spec? We are having some very strange problems with noise and low frequency oscillation on the B+.

Sorry an 0 slipped, 100mA of course.

Recapping? If you use the proper DIN caps there should not be a problem, the noise is probably due to leaky caps, if they unit has still its original you are gambling with the life of your x-former.

Winding? Unfortunately no, I am running three onth with my current OEM transformer orders behind.

Avel has a nice line of toroidal transformers and that's where I would look first: http://avellindberg.com/

But when a power transformer dies, it's usually the primary or B+ winding that fails (because those windings have thinner wire). So, if you have any B+ at all, your transformer is probably ok.
